Revs vs. FC Dallas: Match Preview

The Revs are on the road Saturday Night to face FC Dallas. Read which club I am predicting to win in the state of Texas.

The Revs are coming off of a 1-0 home loss to the Los Angeles Galaxy last Saturday Night. They will have their hands full again with their next opponent. On Saturday Night, the Revs face FC Dallas on the road at Pizza Hut Park. The match takes place at 8:30 PM EST. The game will be shown on Comcast SportsNet New England.

The Revolution (3-3-4, 13 points), in their last match got beat 1-0 to the Galaxy. Miguel Lopez scored on a glancing header in the second half to give the visitors the victory. The Revs had a late rally with three shots in stoppage time, and were not able to score. They will need to convert their opportunities against FC Dallas.

FC Dallas (6-3-4, 22 points) come into this match off of a 2-2 draw with the Houston Dynamo.  They are currently second in the Western Division, and are also unbeaten home. They will be looking to add another victory Saturday Night against the Revs.

The Revs do have injury concerns for this match. According to Revolutionsoccer.net, here are the injuries for the club.

Out: Ryan Cochrane (concussion) , Benny Feilhaber (ankle sprain), Marko Perovic (knee sprain)

Key players to watch in this match-up for the Revs are Shalrie Joseph and Ousmane Dabo. With Benny Feilhaber hurt and out of action, the play in midfield will be crucial for the Revs. If Dabo plays I expect him to be the man controlling the offense from the midfield. Joseph also in midfield will be counted on to push the ball up front to Rajko Lekic. The play in the Revs midfield could very well decide the match.

Key players to watch for FC Dallas are midfielders Brek Shea and Marvin Chavez. These two players are having great seasons, and will be difficult for the Revs to deal with. Shea leads FC Dallas in scoring with 4 goals. Chavez leads his team in assists with 4 so far this season.

Just like the last game for the Revs, this match could be decided in the midfield. Hopefully Dabo and Joseph will have exceptional games for New England.

This is another tough game for the Revs. FC Dallas were the runner ups in the MLS Cup last season, and have started strong this year. Also, the loss of Benny Feilhaber for this match definitely hurts the Revs. FC Dallas are very strong at home, and will make it very difficult for the Revs to get a victory.  I do expect the home team to get all 3 points. I am predicting a 2-1 loss for the Revs against FC Dallas.
