The National Anthem Shines at Town Meeting

Foxborough High school junior Kaileigh Riess sang the National Anthem at the annual town meeting.

While Foxborough's annual town meeting started off with an , that tension melted quickly as a beautiful rendition of the national anthem was sung by Foxborough High school junior Kaileigh Riess. 

The recent killing of Osama bin Laden by U.S military forces generated a round of Patriotic feelings across the country  - feelings which were felt and silently acknowledged at town meeting.

The issues that greeted town meeting attendees were hotly contested. While debate was vigorous, in light of the good feelings started at the beginning of the meeting, everyone remained civil.

Entering Foxborough High School's parking lot, residents against the article held signs simply saying "no tax."

Opposition flyer's against the proposed meals tax were handed out at the door of the High School. The flyer's boldly stated, "Defeat the meals tax, no means no and spending within our means."

Town meeting attendees took all of the information provided in stride and patiently waited for their turn to speak.

However, tensions quickly seized with one note sung of our National Anthem from Riess.

Riess, a talented musician, won second prize in the Chaminade Music Club awards in 2010. The awards are presented to vocal and instrumental young musicians.
