Selectmen Deliver Performance Review For Town Manager

Selectmen discuss successes and areas of improvement.

The Board of Selectmen reviewed Kevin Paicos’ performance as town manager Tuesday night.

Overall, the board was very pleased with Paicos' job performance, but offered areas in which Paicos could improve.

Among the areas of improvement were "communication skills," being more accessible to the public and staff members at town hall and developing more knowledge of the town culture and history. Paicos was recently criticized publicly by some for not being in tune with the culture and history of the town when he brought forward a p possibly paving the way for casino gambling in town. Paicos saying, “he has taken a lot of undeserved heat, he was just doing his job.”

"You know you like your job when you leave for the day with still so many things on your plate and you think to yourself, “where did the time go?” I am absolutely loving my time here. I can see quantitatively that I will love this job for a long time," said Paicos back in January.

Foxborough's town manager still feels the same way close to a year later, telling Selectmen Tuesday that he "will work to improve and loves his job." Paicos' enthusiasm for making Foxborough successful has been shown through his commitment for driving a balanced budget and coming up with new, creative ways to save the town money while encouraging business growth.

What are your thoughts on Paicos' performance so far?
