The Foxboro Board of Selectmen may be receiving some help when they start their search for a new town manager.
Looking for a group to help recruit and discover talent for the position, Selectman Lorraine Brue has been researching the Collins Institute from UMass Boston and believes they would be a good asset in the search for a new town manager.
“These people are skilled in executive search and I think it could probably help bring forward a robust search process,” she said.
If hired, the institute would interview all five selectmen to help create a profile for their ideal candidate. They would also screen applications and send candidates to a screening committee.
The final 2-3 candidates would be interviewed by the Selectmen publicly.
Since the Collins Institute is part of the state, there is no procurement requirement and the town would not have to go out and bid if they are chosen.
According to Brue the unique mix of businesses in Foxboro including Gillette Stadium and Invensys makes the job one of the premier town manager positions in the state.
The selectmen expect to meet with the Collins Institute on Step. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Foxboro High School Media Center.
