President Obama: Bin Laden Photos Will Not Be Released

President Obama decides to not release any photos of a deceased Osama Bin Laden.

President Obama decided today, May 4, to not release any photographs of Osama Bin Laden's body, according to NBC.

President Obama responded to questioning over the decision in a recent 60 Minutes interview. The President stated that the photos are "graphic" and such photos should not float around as a propaganda tool.

"That's not who we are," said the President in his interview with 60 minutes. "We don't need to spike the football."

President Obama announced Sunday evening, May 1, that U.S military officials shot and killed bin Laden.

According to President Obama during a live nation address, the death is a result of a planned attacked.

Bin Laden has been buried at sea in accordance with strict Islamic law. The ritual follows his death on Sunday in a firefight with U.S. forces in Pakistan.

White officials have confirmed that Bin Laden was identified by a woman believed to be one of his wives. Members of the U.S raid squad also identified him. Officials also noted that unspecified material collected by U.S. forces during the raid links back to his DNA match.

Bin Laden was the leader of al Qaeda, the terrorist network behind the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.
