PHOTOS: Selectmen, School Committee Races to be Decided as Election Day Arrives in Foxborough

Foxborough Town Clerk Robert E. Cutler, Jr. expects between 3,500 and 4,000 voters at the polls Tuesday.

Candidates for Foxborough's Board of Selectmen and School Committee are out in force with their campaign teams Tuesday holding signs and conversing with friends and voters outside the Ahern Middle School.

It's Election Day in Foxborough for both the town election and the special U.S. Senate primary. By day's end we will know the winners of the two local contested races - selectmen (three candidates, two open seats) and school committee (four candidates, two open seats) and we will get a better understanding of who Foxborough favors to replace John Kerry in the U.S. Senate.

Polls opened at 7 a.m. inside the Ahern Middle School gymnasium and as of 11 a.m., 1,806 ballots were casted. Town Clerk Robert Cutler, Jr. said while it is impossible to track who is voting in what election - or both elections - he said plenty of voters have "taken two ballots."
