Patrick-Murray Administration Awards $102K Grant to Foxborough Business

The Foxborough business' $102,220 grant is part of a $6.8 million Workforce Training Fund Grant package given to 87 Massachusetts companies.

Eighty-seven businesses from 66 towns across Massachusetts are getting a little extra money to put toward developing their staff.

Governor Deval Patrick's office announced Thursday a $6.8 million package of grants to put toward workplace training. One of those grants is coming to Foxborough. 

Foxborough-based Accutech Packaging, Inc., a manufacturing company that offers paper and paperboard items and related materials and machinery, received $102,220 to train 42 employees, according to a press release issued Thursday. Five additional jobs will be created as a result of training.

"We are focused on addressing the skills gap issue in the Commonwealth so that workers can compete in today’s ever-changing jobs market,” said Governor Deval Patrick in the release. "The Workforce Training Fund focuses on the needs of both our businesses and workers, as Massachusetts continues to lead the nation in economic recovery.”
