Interim Town Manager Cutler to Not Apply for Permanent Position

While it is unknown who the new town manager will be, it is at least known who it won't be.

At Tuesday's selectmen meeting, town clerk and interim town manager Bob Cutler announced that he will not apply for the permanent position.

The decision came as a disappointment to all five members of the board of selectmen.

"Bob Cutler stood up at a time when we needed him. I was hoping the job would entice him to put in his hat. I think he would have made a good candidate. Disappointed is not the word I’m looking for but it’s along that line," selectman Jim DeVellis said.

Since June, Cutler has been the interim town manager and has continued to perform his duties as the town clerk.

Cutler will remain the interim town manager until a new one is found. The next step in the process is expected to take place on Sept. 10 when the selectmen meet with a group that specializes in executive searches.
