Health Inspections: Berry Yogurt, Booth Playground, Lawton's Family Farm & More

The following inspection reports were submitted by the Foxborough Health Department for the week of April 12-27.

Thursday, April 11:

Ed Lawton/Lawton’s Family Farm, 70 North St: Routine retail food service (milk) inspection here yielded no violations. Health Director Pauline Clifford conducted the inspection and noted small glass qrt. sizes of milk were not marked with any date. Nancy Lawton told Clifford she “has not gotten around to ‘stamping’ the dates on the glass containers yet.”

Clifford followed up on Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources cease and desist order dated April 8. Nancy Lawton told Clifford she was OK to sell milk (not OK’d by state), according to Clifford’s notes. Milk in refrigerator on April 11th inspection was dated April 11th.

Foxboro Youth Baseball/Softball, Booth Playground, South Street: Routine mobile food service inspection here yielded no violations. Health Director Pauline Clifford conducted the inspection and noted the door on the nacho machine needed to be fix and covers for waste baskets needed to be provided.

Tuesday, April 16:

Berry Yogurt, 268 Patriot Place: Routine food services inspection was conducted here following a general complaint on cleanliness of establishment on April 15. Trash bins were reported to be “stuffed and not one more item could be placed in it.” Another trash bin will be added in the establishment.

Inspector Pauline Clifford reported no violations, however made note of the following:

  • Watch frost build up in freezer
  • Don’t store any utensil in any food product (tea)
  • Mark all frozen dessert products with expiration dates
  • Clean fan in “Berry Yogurt” case
  • Get ride of all extra items on 3-bay sink area
  • Maintain cleanliness inside ice cream chest
  • Place a waste receptacle at hand wash sink
  • Remove empty ice cream containers
  • Neaten up area – remove old items
  • Clean/Sanitize scoops – debris in both wells – keep water running
  • Keep cleaning products away from food products
  • Designate an area for cleaning of machines
  • Redo area of product storage
  • Waffles should be in a food prep area
  • Provide better way to store cups
  • Make sure hose nozzle is off floor and kept clean
  • Further training suggested for cleaning machines

Studio 3, Showcase de Lux, 24 Patriot Place: Routine food services inspection was conducted here following a “suspect illness.” Inspector Pauline Clifford reported no violations and spoke to person in charge Donna Sharkey about the following:

  • Repair hot water sink – expected to be done by April 17.
  • Coolers / refrigerator were at OK temps
  • Talked about recalls
  • Good employees – all wear aprons, hats and gloves.

Unidine, Invensys, Neponset Avenue: Routine food services inspection was conducted here, which yielded one violation of provisions related to Foodborne Illnesses Interventions and Risk Factors. Inspector Pauline Clifford made the following notes:

  • Do not store anything on top of the grease trap – chemicals.
  • Clean light shield in coffee room
  • Pepsi cooler out front for rust. Needs a thermometer
  • Expiration dates needed on fruit cups, pasta salad, cake, etc.
  • Dish water temperature – must rinse at 168 degrees. Not currently reaching this temp.
  • Good aprons, hats and shoes
  • Ice storage is good
  • Make allergies awareness bigger on menu board

Tuesday, April 23:

Berry Yogurt, 268 Patriot Place: Food services re-inspection following April 16 inspection. Inspector Pauline Clifford reported all issues were corrected.

Clifford noted establishment will provide two more trash bins. Proper cleaning was being conducted at time of re-inspection.
