Health Inspections: Ahern Middle School, Foxboro Funway and Kampers Kitchen

The following inspection reports were submitted by the Foxborough Health Department for the week of April 6.

Monday, April 1:

Ahern Middle School, Mechanic Street: Routine food services inspection here yielded three non-critical violations in the categories of food and food protection, water, plumbing and waste and physical facility. Description of violations / plan of correction:

  • Tight cover in dry goods area needed
  • Keep all (chemicals) segregated from food and food contact surfaces
  • No barrel for HW sink
  • Walk-in freezer, ceiling on right has some peeling paint
  • Drain cover on floor drain
  • Fruit on counter not temperature controlled (and milk)
  • Hot water takes a long time at second hand sink. May not be at proper temperature.
  • Some dented cans

Tuesday, April 2:

Kampers Kitchen, 72 West St. (Seasonal): Pre-operation inspection of mobile operation yielded no violations. Foxborough Health Director Pauline Clifford instructed owner to address the following prior to opening for the season:

  • Post allergy awareness on outside menu boards
  • Make sure allergy awareness is on all menus

Clifford reported it was OK to open trailer from last year but new trailer has not been approved for operation yet. Clifford reported trailer plan still needs review, all sinks must be properly posted with directions, permit and ServeSafe must be posted.

Wednesday, April 3:

Foxboro Funway, 2 Washington St. (Seasonal): Routine and pre-operation inspection of mobile operation yielded no violations. Foxborough Health Director Pauline Clifford instructed owner to address the following prior to opening for the season:

  • Provide test strips for sanitizer
  • Provide instructions at 3-bay sink
  • Make sure to provide thermometer for ice cream chests, etc. with potential hazardous foods.
  • Make sure to post allergy awareness on outdoor menu.
  • Make sure ceiling tiles are all in place.

Clifford deemed Foxboro Funway OK to open.
