Foxborough Selectmen's Meeting Notebook

Foxborough selectmen vote to approve NCAA Lacrosse Championships at Gillette Stadium.

 

Between the conversation with the Kraft Group and the town on the billboards issue, the Foxborough selectmen were able to handle a variety of issues.

-Approved hosting the NCAA Lacrosse Championships at Gillette Stadium from May 26-28 by a 4-0 vote. The event was last held in Foxborough in 2009. It is three days of men’s college lacrosse action.

-The selectmen didn’t take action on pay plan for town employees, wanting to give them more feedback from them.

-The town meeting warrant was read through and approved for the May meeting. by 5-0, voting for all articles except for the article causing to take the billboard land on Route 1, which was removed.

-Voted 5-0 to accept a $2,000 Service Incentive Grant from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs to be used to fund a temporary position to help develop an emergency prepardness outreach effort for the Foxborough community.

-Voted 5-0 to renew the appointments of Randy Scollins and Bill Yunka to a five-year term to the Industrial Development Finance Authority. The term expires on April 1, 2017.

-Approved by a 5-0 vote Raffaella Finestein to the Board of Registrars for a term ending April 4, 2015.

-Accepted registration of Peter Turner, because of his retirement, on the building committee. By a 5-0 vote, Gary Whitehouse was appointed to a three-year term expiring on May 1, 2015.

-Voted 5-0 to grant a request for Class I Auto License for C & E Automotive DBA C & E Yamaha to be located at 53 Washington St.

-By a 5-0 vote approved the Harvard Pilgrim "Finish at the Fifty," a 10K run/walk to be held on July 3 at Gillette Stadium.

-Selectman Lorraine Brue will attend the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for George Kielpinski April 14.
