Discussion on Proposed Zoning Law Changes for Route 1 To be Held Dec. 8

Sharon Wason, Foxborough's Town Planner, noted that the "Bylaws that would allow gambling, gaming, or a casino are not included in the articles in the continued Public Hearing on this week's Planning Board agenda. Draft language that might have allowed gambling was discussed at the Planning Board meeting on August 25 of this year, but neither the planning board nor selectmen supported submitting the language for consideration as a zoning amendment for Town Meeting action. Certain amenities that might be helpful for a casino proposal like the proposed increase in building height to 300 feet will be discussed."

Wason added, "The Planning Board always evaluates anything based on what they believe is in the best interests of the citizens of Foxborough and welcomes the input, comments, and ideas of Foxborough citizens. If discussion on gambling seems to get cut off or not fully and completely aired on Thursday, it will be only due to the need to discuss the advertised zoning bylaw changes."
