Police Chase During PumpkinFest Rattles Residents, Suspects Caught

Suspects caught after police pursuit near PumpkinFest on the town common. ‎

Foxborough residents packed the town common Sunday to celebrate the start of fall and to help raise funds for Birthday Wishes, a non-profit organization providing birthday celebrations to thousands of homeless children.

The event dubbed kicked off at 1:00pm and hosted a ton of family fun. However, this year, residents were witness to an unfortunate incident that took place during the annual fall festival.

According to Foxborough Police, a call to the station was placed by on a possible counterfeit credit case situation. A clerk at CVS recognized one of the suspects that had previously been in the store during the weekend and had used a "bad" card to purchase several hundred dollars in gift cards.

After the call was placed, the store contacted staff who then located the suspects near the old firehouse by the town common where PumpkinFest was taking place.

The suspects then divided from each other running, leading officers on a foot-chase. One suspect was arrested on the town common during PumpkinFest. The second suspect was caught after fleeing down Rockhill Street.

Many Foxborough residents witnessed the chase and were shaken up by the incident.

"We were driving by and had to stop for the chase," said one Foxborough resident who wished to remain anonymous. "We saw one of the guys running and had the police stop in front of us and chase him - Scary!"

The Secret Service has been called in to assist the situation as the suspects' identifications were found to be false.

Officers are currently searching for their vehicle and other evidence.
