Person Struck by Train Monday ID'd as Foxborough Man

MBTA Transit Police continue investigating the incident.

The person struck by an Amtrak train in Foxborough on Monday has been identified as a Foxborough man.

Nicholas Bertozzi, 32, of Foxborough was trespassing when the accident occurred, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said today.

The MBTA alerted commuters to the incident at 4:44 p.m. Monday.

The alert stated that the incident happened "between Sharon and Mansfield station."

However, Pesaturo said today it happened in Foxborough.

The accident prompted the MBTA to run shuttle buses from the Sharon station, at 1 Upland Road, during part of the evening commute. Trains to Providence also were delayed or cancelled.

Amtrak's Northeast Corridor service from Providence to Route 128 was disrupted as well.
