Patriots Player Alfonzo Dennard Sentenced to Additional Jail Time Starting in March

New England Patriots cornerback Alfonzo Dennard will spend more time in jail than expected once the NFL season ends.

Earlier today, a request by Dennard to delay the sentencing until after the season was denied in a Nebraska court.

In addtion, Dennard was sentenced to an additional year of probation, 60 days in prison - up from 30, 100 hours of community service with 50 to be served in Nebraska, and a no alcohol condition was added to his probation according to the Lincoln Journal Star. Including credit for three days already served, he can be out of jail after 35 days with good time.

"I want you to know this is your last chance," a judge told Dennard before he left the courtroom.

Dennard will serve his time in jail starting on March 1.

Originally, Dennard was sentenced to 30 days in jail after being convicted of assaulting a police offer in April 2012. He also received two years probation and 100 hours of community service.

In July, Dennard violated his probation after he was stopped and arrested by a police sergeant in Lincoln on suspicion of a DUI after his vehicle driveled outside his driving lane. He is scheduled to enter a plea in the case on Dec. 6.
