Officials Tell Residents to Leave Three-Legged Coyote Alone

If you see the coyote, leave it alone. That is the advice recently given by the Foxborough Police Department and animal control officer Sue Thibedeau.

Recently, residents have been reporting a three-legged coyote located in East Foxboro. Those near the coyote are strongly advised to avoid any contact with the animal. The coyote is still considered wildlife and it's behavior around humans is unpredictable.

According to police, humane harassment should be employed to discourage habituation of people as officials want the coyote to be afraid of people.

If the animal becomes habituated, the only option is lethal removal.

According to Thibedeau, the coyote can recover and adapt to the injury. The animal cannot be relocated.
