Norwood Driver Charged With Dragging Woman to Her Death on Route 1

Update, 12:00 p.m. - A 22-year-old male from Norwood accused of dragging a woman under his car down Route 1 is free on bail after an arraignment hearing at Wrentham District Court.

Moses Acloque is accused of dragging the body of Arbor Inn employee Kanchan Patel under his truck for three miles on Route 1 from the  Arbor Inn to Chickie Flynn’s. 

He pleaded not guilty to charges of leaving the scene of a collision causing death; motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation, leaving the scene of a personal injury crash, two counts of leaving the scene of property damage, and driving while license to operate suspended.

Acloque is free on $3,000 bail but will have to wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, stay away from the Ann Arbor Inn, and have no contact with any witnesses or employees of the motel.

Moses Acloque, 22, of Bonney Lane in Norwood, will be arraigned in Wrentham District Court Tuesday morning on charges that include leaving the scene of an accident causing death. 

Wrentham Police received multiple calls at about 10 p.m. Monday after two pedestrians were struck at the Arbor Inn on Route 1 in Wrentham. One of the victims was reportedly dragged more than three miles on Route 1 all the way to the Chickie Flynn restaurant in Foxborough.

The woman who was dragged was Kanchanben Patel, 58, an employee at the Arbor Inn. 

The other pedestrian who was struck received minor injuries. 

Route 1 was closed during the crime scene processing overnight, but has since been reopened. 

The matter remains under investigation.
