No Injuries After Car Crashes into Route 1 Liquor Mart in Foxborough

Foxborough Police responded to a startling scene at a liquor store on Route 1 Saturday afternoon.

There were no injuries reported after a motor vehicle drove through the entrance of Route 1 Liquor Mart at 29 Washington St. in Foxborough Saturday afternoon.

"[It] could have been a lot worse than how this image [see above] portrays it," Foxborough Police said on its Facebook page.

Police received a 911 call from Route 1 Liquor Mart at 4:51 p.m. Saturday reporting a car had crashed through the front of the building.

Foxborough police officers Patrick Morrison, Patrick Hoffman, Mark Bohnenberger and Sgt. Scott Austin were dispatched to Route 1 Liquor Mart and observed the 2010 gray Toyota Corolla through the front door of the Foxborough package store.

An off-duty Foxborough firefighter was on scene and reported the driver, an East Walpole woman, was out of the vehicle and not injured.

"Thankfully, no employees or customers inside the store were injured," police said. "The operator of the vehicle was also not injured."

Police said the operator of the vehicle was not impaired and "no criminal charges are moving forward at this time."

The Toyota Corolla was removed from the Route 1 Liquor Mart after the store's owner gathered any merchandize "that could be salvaged."

The package store was open for business Monday. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
