Man Found with Explosives in Foxborough Hotel Room Pleads Not Guilty

Stephen A. Mudge Jr., originally of Easton, who has been staying in the Taunton/Brockton area, was found with homemade explosives in a Foxborough hotel room last week after being arrested by Foxborough Police on two breaking and entering warrants.

The man pleaded not guilty and asked for a mental health evaluation in court Monday, according to Fox25 Boston.

Stephen A. Mudge Jr., 41, originally of Easton, appeared in Wrentham District Court Monday and pleaded not guilty to eight counts possession of a destructive or incendiary device after Foxborough Police found "homemade explosives" in Mudge's hotel room at on Route 1 Friday, according to Foxborough Police detective Tom Kirrane.

Kirrane said Friday's arrest was the result of a two-week investigation after Mudge was wanted for alleged break-ins in Norton, Easton and Raynham.
