How Much Crime Takes Place in Foxborough?

Foxborough's 2012 Annual Town Report, which was released in May, outlines in detail the activity of the Foxborough Police Department over the last year.

According to the report, Foxborough Police received 21,147 calls for service and responded to 1,015 criminal incidents throughout the course of the year, which resulted in 263 arrests.

“We will continue to prioritize solutions to prevent and deter crime in all parts of our community,” Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary reported in the 2012 Annual Town Report. “As we move forward, this department will remain focused on our duty to provide impartial, ethical and professional law enforcement service and protection.”

The town saw a slight increase in overall crime in 2012 (254), which includes murder, rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny and stolen motor vehicles, from 2011 (247).

The majority of crime reported in 2012 was larceny (131) followed by burglaries (73), according to the report. There were six stolen motor vehicles and just two robberies in town in 2012. Police reported 35 assaults recorded in 2012 and seven rapes. There were no murders reported over the past year.

As for arrests and summons cases, police reported 65 youths 18 and under were taken into custody in 2012 with 49 of those custodies involving liquor violations or intoxication, according to the report.

The majority of arrests/summons made came under the category of “all other” at 182 followed by assault (79), disorderly (53), OUI (48), drug arrests (30) and larceny (12).
