Foxborough Weathered the Storm, Work To Be Done

Foxborough Fire Chief Roger Hatfield says that Foxborough has weathered the storm but there is still a lot of work to do.

The storm may be moving out of Foxborough, but Irene has left behind a serious headache for many residents and safety officials.

As of 8:00 a.m Monday over 7,000 Foxborough residents are without power, according to Foxborough Fire Chief Roger Hatfield. For many Foxborough residents and business owners, the possibility of another day without power and no official word on when it will be restored, is simply frustrating.

"I have not seen one National Grid truck in town," said one resident. "I am very frustrated at this point."

The Foxboro Day Camp, however, will be open today. Patriot Place and The Hall at Patriot Place presented by Raytheon remain closed this morning.

In addition to widespread power outages, over twelve major roads were covered with debris including North Street, Central, Mechanic, South, Oak and Chestnut Street. A bulk staff of Foxborough Highway Department are working on debris removal and setting up detours.
