Foxborough Selectman Gets Protective Order Against Accused Threatener

Selectman Mark Sullivan received a protective order against a man accused of threatening his life.

A Foxborough selectman today sought and received a protective order against the man accused of threatening his life.

Selectman Mark Sullivan requested the order just prior to the arraignment of Michael Viscardi in Wrentham District Court.

Viscardi, 40, of 1 Spruce Street is charged with threatening Sullivan's life.

The order would require Viscardi to stay away from Sullivan, his home and his place of work.

Viscardi said he had problems with such an order.

"I plan on going to Foxborough town meetings, and he's a selectman," Viscardi said, adding that he planned on getting a restraining order against Sullivan himself.

Judge Stephen Ostrach added a condition that Viscardi be allowed to attend public meetings.

Viscardi also objected to the stay-away order, as he walks his dog down Spruce Street (on which he and Sullivan live) and fishes at a nearby pond.

Ostrach, though, said Viscardi would have to abide by that condition.

"I'm going to order you to stay 50 feet away [from Sullivan's residence and Sullivan]," Ostrach said. "Walk your dog somewhere else."
