Foxborough Police on Capture of Second Bomber: ‘Great Job’

Foxborough police thank everyone involved in the capture of the second suspect from Monday's attacks on the Boston Marathon.

The news of Dzokhar Tsarnaev’s capture has led to celebration and relief around the state and country Friday night as 102 hours of terror, mourning, striving and struggle, have resulted in police killing one and capturing the second bomber suspect from Monday’s attacks on the Boston Marathon.

In Foxborough, the police department issued the following statement on its Facebook page shortly after media reports surfaced that the manhunt for Tsarnaev was over.

“Great job by all law enforcement personnel during this difficult week,” the police department said.

Foxborough police officers Scott Hodson and James Payne were deployed to Boston Monday to assist in the aftermath of the Marathon attacks and were actively assisting in Friday’s manhunt of Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, 19, of Cambridge (the second bombing suspect).

“Officers Scott Hodson and James Payne have been assisting Boston throughout the week [were] assisting with the ongoing investigations,” Foxborough police said via Facebook. “We are awaiting their safe return, as well as hoping for the safety of all officers involved.”

The B.A.A. was equally grateful for all who assisted in the Boston Marathon bombing investigation.

“The B.A.A. joins all citizens of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in thanking the federal, state and city law enforcement community for the resolution of Friday’s manhunt,” the B.A.A. said on its Facebook page. “BOSTON Stands As One!

“At this time, we remember Martin Richard, 8; Krystle Campbell, 29; Lingzi Lu, 23; and MIT officer Sean Collier, 26. We also remember all of those injured on Monday, and their families.”

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady also took to Facebook to express his appreciation for all who worked tirelessly this week in the wake of Monday's attacks.

"Thank you to all the brave law enforcement agents for keeping our city safe. #BostonStrong," Brady said via his Facebook page.
