Foxborough Police Officers Assist With Response to Boston Marathon Bombings

Three Foxborough police officers were deployed to Boston Monday to assist in the aftermath of the Marathon bombings.

The Foxborough Police Department sent three officers to Boston to assist in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings Monday.

Foxborough Police Chief Edward O’Leary said the three officers are members of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council, which was called up to Boston after Monday’s attack.

Officers Scott Hodson and James Payne are part of the council’s tactical team and Lt. John Hannon is part of the council’s investigation team. O’Leary said all three were deployed to Boston Monday as part of a regional response.

“I believe both Hodson and Payne have security assignments later in the day [Tuesday],” O’Leary said. “The investigative team has transitioned into the federal investigation so the investigative component is not deployed Tuesday.”

O’Leary said he is thankful none of Foxborough’s 11 residents participating in Monday’s race were injured.
