Foxborough Bomb Suspect Charged with Breaking and Entering in Norton

Stephen Mudge was also arrested for possession of bombs in Foxborough Friday.

After an investigation by Norton Detective Lieutenant Thomas Petersen Jr.,  have charged Stephen Mudge, 41, of Broadway Street, Taunton, with breaking and entering in the daytime, malicious destruction of property and more than $250 in larceny. Mudge was arrested by Foxborough on possession of a bomb.

Mudge is the suspect of a house break at 111 Bay Road, Norton, that occurred on July 5. A resident at the home called police when she saw that the front door was kicked open. An arrest warrant was sought for Mudge after the investigation of that incident. 

Mudge was recently in their town as well for breaking and entering in Raynham and Easton after Foxborough Police set up surveillance at America’s Best Value Inn as part of a two-week investigation. They found eight homemade explosives in his hotel room at  on Washington Street, according to Foxborough Police Detective Tom Kirrane. He was additionally charged with eight counts of possession of a bomb.

Throughout the last two weeks, six other house breaks have been reported in Norton, a few of which were in the vicinity of Bay Road.
