Foxboro Man Charged with Third Drunk Driving Offense in Attleboro District Court

A Foxboro man is now facing his third drunk driving offense after procesutors said he drove through a red light at Tiffany Street and South Avenue in Attleboro.

Robert Cormier Jr., 49, of 9 Idlewild, Foxboro was arraigned in Attleboro District Court on Saturday on charges of drunk driving, driving to endanger, and failing to stop for a traffic signal according to the Sun Chronicle.

On Sunday, Cormier allegedly drove through a red light and hit another car. The driver of the car that was hit, a 60-year-old woman was transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

While he was free to leave after entering a plea of not guilty, Cormier was ordered to not drink alcohol or drive a car without a license while the case is pending. 

He must also partake in random testing and attend an alcohol counseling session at least once a week.

The prosecution added this is Cormier's first drunk driving offense since the late 1990s.

Cormier is due back in court on Dec. 10
