Everett Man Accused of Robbing Elderly Foxboro Woman Free on Bail

An Everett man accused of robbing an elderly woman in Foxboro is free after posting bail in Wrentham District Court.

Sonny George was free to go after posting $4,500 cash bail after his arraignment according to the Sun Chronicle. He was charged with breaking and entering and larceny from a person 60 or older.

The prosecution in the case requested a $10,000 cash bail, arguing that George has a history of arrests across multiple states and has been charged with larceny from a person 60 or older in the past.

George’s lawyer, Kevin Reddington said in court that the prosecution has a “difficult case to prove.”

According to police, George went to the home of the elderly victim and told her he was a contractor installing a fence on a neighboring property. When he took the victim to the backyard to show her where the fictitious fence was going to be placed, a second person entered the house and took a large sum of cash and jewelry. George left after receiving a call on his cell phone he said he had to answer.

Police arrested George on Aug. 9 after a warrant was put out for his arrest on the previous day.

According to court records, George and a second man are also under investigation for similar incidents in Arlington, Boston Cambridge, Lynn, Dedham, and Rockland.
