Discarded Cigarette Caused 3-Alarm Fire at Lakeview Pavilion

What is left of the building was being demolished Sunday.

The careless disposal of a cigarette is the cause of Saturday night’s 3-alarm fire that destroyed the Lakeview Pavilion in Foxboro.

Fire officials told the Boston Globe it was a discarded cigarette that sparked the blaze that destroyed the popular wedding facility.

The building is a total loss following the Saturday night blaze. On Sunday what was left was being demolished.

A wedding was happening at the venue when the fire started just before 7 p.m. Saturday night. None of the guests were injured.

WCVB-TV, Channel 5 is reporting Lakeview Pavilion’s owner will work to help relocate upcoming events and help customers impacted by the fire.
