Four Taken to Hospital After Car Fire on Route 95

A car crash that turned into a car fire halted traffic Tuesday night on Route 95.

According to scanner reports, the car caught on fire around 7 p.m. after going off the road between Exits 7 and 8 in Foxborough.

Four people were inside the car but were able to get out with the help of passerby who pulled the passengers out of the vehicle that would soon be in flames.

Rescue crews transported three victims to Norwood Hospital while one was taken to Boston Medical Center for evaluation. Mansfield and Sharon fire also helped with the response. 

The accident forced travel the portion of Route 95 to be restricted to one lane for a period of time.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
