UPDATED: Amtrak Train Hits Unoccupied ATV on Tracks in Foxborough Wednesday

No injuries reported following an investigation by Foxborough police in the area of East Street near the Sharon town line.

UPDATE (Thursday, June 6; 8 a.m.) -

There were no injuries in Wednesday's Amtrak train accident involving an anbandoned AT on the tracks in Foxborough, according to Foxborough fire officials via The Sun Chronicle.

Foxborough police and fire were unable to find a victim after an extensive 20-minute search in the area of East Street near the Sharon town line.

Foxborough police and first responders are currently investigating a report of a train possibly striking an ATV that reportedly was stuck on the tracks in the East Street area.

According to reports, police received a call just before 7 p.m. of a possible person on an ATV hit by a possible Amtrak train on Wolomolopoag Street. Police were searching for a victim shortly after arriving on scene.

During the preliminary investigation, police believed the ATV was stuck on the tracks when struck but nothing has been confirmed.

On scene investigators are currently looking in the area of East Street in Foxborough and East Foxboro Street in Sharon for signs of a strike and a possible victim.
