What Should Replace This Building on Route 1 Foxborough?

What would you like to see done with the space on the corner of Washington and North streets in Foxborough?

CORRECTION (Friday, Oct. 12, 1:24 p.m.) - A previous version of this article stated this building was formerly an Andersen National Lumber location on Route 1 in Foxborough. That is incorrect, as confirmed by Deborah Rowell of National Lumber. "On behalf of National Lumber, I can assure you that this was never a National Lumber location," Rowell said. "Also, Andersen Windows & Doors are products we sell, not part of our company name. We are aware of the logos on the building. They were put there for a particular event some time ago. We are looking into who currently owns the building, and will ask them to remove the logos. We applaud your efforts to re-purpose this site."

Drive around Foxborough long enough and you’re bound to see an empty storefront or vacant building.

But do you ever stop to envision what could move into town to fill that opening in town?

We do, and now we are asking you to share your thoughts in our continuing series, "Visions for Vacancies." We'll showcase an empty storefront or building and ask you what should take up the space. This is your place to sound off and have your say about local businesses and open spaces.

This week, we turn our attention to open space at the corner of Washington and North streets on Route 1 in Foxborough.

Today's question: What would you like to see fill this space on the corner of Washington and North streets off Route 1? Let us know in the comments section below!

When was it Andersen National Lumber? I have only known it as the former Getty gas station which I believe is why nothing has been done with it yet because there are hazardous waste problems to deal with before anything can be done with the site. Aside from any possible site problems, I would love to see a bakery there.

FYI the site lost its grandfather clause so building something there will be impossible and as far as food goes the site is to small to support the business and the required septic system and yes it is contaminated
