Let's end the dysfunction in Foxboro! Please vote on May 5th!

dys·func·tion noun (ˌ)dis-ˈfəŋ(k)-shən : the condition of having poor and unhealthy behaviors and attitudes within a group of people To the editor: We all like to talk about the dysfunction of our Federal Government as the national media constantly reminds of this on a daily basis. But do we ever look into our own backyard? I do. I make it a point to attend every town meeting, and watch (in-person or on Foxboro Cable Access) each Selectman’s Meeting. I still cannot fathom why it took so long to approve the liquor license transfer for Splitsville/Howl at the Moon. Over 900 Foxboro residents signed a petition months ago, yet they were summarily ignored. Months of bickering, delays and untold legal fees were spent from our hard-earned tax dollars to get to where we are now. Why??? Our BOS is sorely lacking in leadership, direction, and the ability to think clearly on town issues without personal biases or agendas (If you haven’t watched the BOS meetings for the past few months, I urge you to take a look at http://www.fcatv.org/ as the meetings are all there). I think it is time for some new blood on the Board. Someone who cares about the future of our town and comes prepared with fresh ideas, a calm and businesslike approach, and a willingness to listen to the people of Foxboro. This is why I am supporting David Feldman for the Board of Selectman as I believe he exhibits all of those attributes. It is time for a change Foxboro! Let’s try and end the dysfunction! Please make you vote count on May 5! Marc Rivard
