Funeral for Sam Berns to be Held on Tuesday

Berns- Sam G., of Foxboro, Massachusetts on January 10, 2014, following a lifelong battle with Progeria. Beloved son of Dr. Scott Berns and Dr. Leslie Gordon. Grandson of Alice and Lewis Berns of CT, and Barbara and Burt Gordon of Beverly, MA. Nephew of Lori Gordon and John Ledoux, Audrey Gordon and Richard Reed, Karen and David Betournay, Daniel and Kara Berns. Cousin of Ryan, Sarah, Jason, Benjamin, Nadia, Syetta, Paige and Skyler. Services at Temple Israel, 125 Pond Street, Sharon, on Tuesday, January 14 at 10:30 am. Please check www.tisharon.org or www.brezniakrodman.com to confirm location of services. Following the interment, the family will receive family and friends at Temple Israel. Sam Berns was a Junior at Foxboro High School in Foxboro, where he achieved highest honors and was recently selected to be a member of the National Honor Society. Sam was a percussion section leader in his high school band and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.  He was a highlighted speaker at Tedx MidAtlantic in 2013 and is featured in the documentary “Life According to Sam”.  Sam teaches us that every day is a gift, and that we can achieve anything we set out to do. Through his courage, spirit, kindness and love, Sam will forever inspire those who have come to know him.
