Obituary: Remembering James M. Davin, General Counsel for Suffolk County Sheriff's Department

Davin, 48, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 20. The 15-year Foxborough resident was General Counsel for Suffolk County Sherriff's Department.

James M. Davin, age 48, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012 at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the comfort of his loving family.

Jim was born on Oct. 18, 1964 in Brighton and was a graduate of Boston Latin High School. He was a graduate of Stonehill College in Easton and earned his law degree at Northeastern University School of Law in Boston. He and his wife Nicky were married on Aug. 15, 1992. He has been a Foxborough resident for the past 15 years.

Jim was employed as General Counsel for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department. He was a devoted and loving father and enjoyed supporting his children’s sporting events and activities. He was a coach for Foxborough Youth Baseball and the Metro West travel basketball team. He was a Communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Foxborough.

Beloved husband of Nicole “Nicky” L. (Picard) Davin. Loving father of Sean, Aidan and Julia Davin of Foxborough. Devoted son of Francis and Mary (Doucette) Davin of Brighton. Brother of Peter Davin of Milford, Christopher Davin of Sudbury, John Davin of Medway and Michael Davin of Brighton. Also survived by several loving nieces and nephews.
