Obituary: Remembering Foxborough Resident, Cable Access TV Producer BJ Bjork

Bjork passed away on Aug. 26 after spending two-and-a-half years as a producer for Foxboro Cable Access TV.

Norman “BJ” Bjork Davison joined Foxboro Cable Access in October of 2009 and spent the last three years producing his own TV show – “Let’s Paint the Town with BJ Bjork,” according to Foxboro Cable Access’ website.

Bjork, 69, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 26 in Kindred Hospital in Northeast Stoughton, according to his obituary, after spending more than 10 years as a Foxborough resident.He will be dearly missed by the folks at FCA.

“BJ always pushed for quality and took the process and responsibility that comes with TV production seriously,” FCA said in a post on its website “The FCA community is thankful to have had the opportunity to meet BJ and spend time with such a passionate guy.”

Bjork’s passion and “jovial personality” was on display in 20 episodes of “Let’s Paint the Town with BJ Bjork” and can be viewed by following this FCA link.

Bjork, according to his obituary, was born in Boston on Aug. 21, 1943 and was raised in Jamaica Plain. He lived in Avon for several years before moving to Foxborough over 10 years ago. A military veteran, Bjork served in the Air Force during the 1960s.

Bjork had a passion for art and studied at Augustana College, The University of Nebraska and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, according to his obituary. He also studied with artists Al Albrektson, Joel Babb and Constance Pratt.

Bjork painted portraits and other paintings and was the recipient of many awards. His work has been seen privately, in corporate collections and internationally.

His funeral service and interment will be private, however visiting hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Ginley Funeral Home at 892 Main St., Walpole.
