Obituary: Maryellen (Colomey) Carter

Maryellen (Colomey) Carter, 69, in Brunswick, NY, formerly of Foxborough and Brighton, died unexpectedly at her home on Aug. 11, 2013.  She was the beloved wife of the late James P. Carter, devoted mother of Amy Hall and her husband Brian of Brunswick, NY, Michael Carter and his wife Darlene of Foxborough and the late Beth M. and James N. Carter.
She was also the sister of Edward Colomey of Mashpee and the late Nicholas Colomey, loving grandmother of Carter and Brian Hall Jr. of Brunswick, NY, Benjamin and Shane  Carter of Foxboro.  Mrs. Carter is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. 

Visiting hours will be in the Lehman Reen & McNamara Funeral Home Thursday Aug. 15, from 4-8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at St. Columbkille Church 321 Market Street, Brighton, Friday, Aug. 16, at 10:30 a,m.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.  Interment will be private. 

Born in Cambridge, she attended St. Columbkille High School, Boston State College and Boston Business School.  She worked for VA Medical Center for over 30 years beginning as a Secretary for Engineering Services and retiring as Administrative Officer of Ambulatory Care Services and Radiation Therapy Services. Maryellen enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and her beloved dog, Addison. 

In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mrs. Carter may be made to American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
