Obituary: Joseph W. Sullivan

Jospeh W. Sullivan was a Foxborough resident for the past 50 years. His obituary is courtesy of Roberts & Sons Funeral Home.

Joseph W. Sullivan, age 84, died at his daughters home in Norfolk surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Joseph W. and Helen (Barrett) Sullivan.

Joseph was born in South Boston on Oct. 25, 1927 and attended Boston Latin High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He and his wife Marie were married on June 11, 1955 at Gate of Haven Church in South Boston. He has been a resident of Foxborough for the past 50 years.

Joseph was member of Teamsters Union Local 25 last working as shipping manager for the DuPont Chemical Company in Boston. A devoted grandfather, Joseph enjoyed attending all of their sporting events and performances. He was an avid New England sports fan and enjoyed golf, reading and traveling with his wife. He was member of the Foxborough Cribbage League and Castle Island Association.

Beloved husband of Marie F. (Nugent) Sullivan. Loving father of Joseph Sullivan and his wife Susan Rizzo of Newcastle, Maine, Elaine DelGrasso and her fiancé Patrick McHugh of Foxborough, John Sullivan and his wife Kathy of Wrentham, Robin Heinricher and her husband John of Foxborough, Betsy Hauser and her husband Marc of Norfolk and Mark Sullivan and his wife Karin of Walpole. Also survived by seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Brother of the late Tom Sullivan from Holbrook.
