Obituary: Frank N. 'Buzzer' Giordano

Frank Nicholas “Buzzer” Giordano, age 85, died on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Harrington House in Walpole surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Dominic and Mary (Civale) Giordano.

Frank was born in Norwood on Dec. 6, 1926 and graduated from Norwood High School, Class of 1945 where he was the captain of the football, baseball and basketball teams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He and his wife Rose (Michenzie) were married on June 10, 1951 at Blessed Sacrament Church in in Walpole. He had been a resident of Foxborough for the past 51 years.

Frank was a customer contact coordinator for the Foxborough Company, retiring after 50 years of service. After retiring, he worked as a funeral directors assistant at the James H. Delaney Funeral home in Walpole, R.J. Ross Funeral Home in Wrentham and in Foxborough.

He was a Eucharistic Minister and longtime communicant of in Foxborough. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Norwood and former president of the AARP in Norwood. He was also a basketball referee for over 55 years and received a reward of recognition for over 50 years of service from the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials.

Beloved husband of Rose Mary (Michenzie) Giordano. Loving father of Michele Wilson of North Attleboro and the late Tracy Giordano and dear friend of Michele's fiance, Robert Giammarco. Devoted grandfather of Caitlin and Geoffrey Wilson of North Attleboro.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South St., Foxborough. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter St., Foxborough. Interment to follow with U.S. Army honors at St. Francis Cemetery in Walpole.
