OBITUARY - Thomas Edward Sawran, 60,

Thomas Edward Sawran, 60, died unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, October 10, 2013. He was the son of the late Nicholas and Sophie Ann (Smolinski) Sawran.

Tom was born on February 9, 1953 in Washington, NJ. He was a graduate of Centenary College in New Jersey. He has been a resident of Foxborough for the past 27 years.

Tom was the owner/operator of Complete Interior Remodeling in Foxborough. He was a Metro West patched referee and a former CYO/Youth Basketball coach in Foxborough. An outdoorsman, Tom enjoyed hiking, camping and working in his yard, with his dog Cliff whom he loved.

Tom made an enormous contribution to the Foxborough Jaycees which he joined in 1989, he served as chapter president in 1993. He was honored with a senatorship to the Massachusetts Jaycees Senate and went on to become President and was currently serving as Vice President. He was a recipient of both the Key Man Award and the Jaycee Life Member Award. He was Massachusetts Jaycees Senate President from 2007-2008 and Vice President for the past 10 years.

Tom was a member of the Foxborough Founders Day committee and was responsible for placing the white crosses that are displayed on the Foxborough common for Memorial Day Ceremonies.

Loving father of Nicole and her husband Sameer Lalwani of Washington, DC and Patrick and his wife Alley Sawran of Allston. Grandfather of Desmond Sawran. Devoted brother of James and his wife Shari Sawran of Fort Lauderdale, FL and the late Richard Sawran.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, October 15 from 4 to 7 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough. A funeral service will be held at 7 PM at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.
