M. Jeanne Wells Dies at 88; Proprietor of Former Foxboro Motel

M. Jeanne Wells was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She loved to travel, ice-skate, golf, knitting, sewing and gatherings with family and friends near any body of water.

M. Jeanne Wells, age 88, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Norwood Hospital surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Edgar and Elizabeth (Wheeler) Murphy.

Born in Montague, NY on August 22, 1924, she graduated from Carthage High School, Class of 1941 and graduated from the Central City Business Institute Class of 1943, in Syracuse, NY. During WWII, Jeanne was a Morse Code Operator in the Civil Aeronautic Administration in Fairbanks, AL. She married her late husband, Leo Wells, on May 8, 1949 at St. James Church in Carthage, NY. She was the proprietor of the former Foxboro Motel.

She was an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. She loved to travel, ice-skate, golf, knitting, sewing. She loved gatherings with family and friends near any body of water.

Loving mother of Dennis of West Tisbury, MA, Larry and his wife Paulette Frances Packey-Wells of N. Attleboro, Jeanne of Foxborough, Nancy and her husband Jerry Sanchez of Easton, Fran of Warwick, RI and the late Douglas, Joseph and Timothy. Devoted grandmother of Colin, Justin, Ashley, Kyle, Cassi, Lou and Brittany. G’ma of Skyler, Casper, Wade, Isabella and Aria. Sister of Smoke Murphy of Escondido, CA and Norma Irvin of Ogdensburg, NY and the late Bernard and Joseph Murphy. Also survived by too many to count, but all loved, nieces and nephews.
