Foxborough Obituary: William S. Cisternelli

Longtime Foxborough resident William S. Cisternelli, 86, passed away on Sept. 10. His obituary is courtesy of Roberts & Sons Funeral Home.

William S. Cisternelli, age 86, passed peacefully on Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at the JFK Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. He was son of the late Salvatore and Gemma (Omogrosso) Cisternelli.

William was born in Walpole on Oct. 11, 1925 and was educated in Norwood Public Schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He has been a resident of Florida for the past two years and was a former longtime resident of Foxborough.

William worked for the Foxboro Company for many years until his retirement in 1986. He was an avid card player and enjoyed watching the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Beloved husband of the late Maria V. (Tortora) Cisternelli. Loving father of Joanne Jones and her husband Edwin of Vero Beach, Fla., William Cisternelli, Jr. and his wife Susan of Yarmouth Port and Stephen Cisternelli and his wife Sharon of Walpole. Brother of Edward Cisternelli of Walpole, Gilda Keenan of New Hampshire, Shirley Reardon of Walpole and the late Guido Cisternelli, Josephine Carbonetti, Emma McMaster, Sylvia Varjian, Alba Maroney and Julie Sankey. Also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
