Cheryl F. Warren-Powers

Cheryl F. Warren-Powers, 39, of Burt Street, Attleboro, a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, died  May 22, 2012 in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Shawn Powers. She was a former coach at Foxborough High.

Born  in Norwood on January 10, 1973, she was a daughter of the late Sherrill and Diane (Craig) Warren. Mrs. Warren-Powers was a graduate of Bishop Feehan High School, Class of 1991, and a graduate of Wheaton College. She worked as an executive assistant and client services manager at the Lund Financial Group in Plainville.

She was also an executive officer at BNHBA. Mrs. Warren-Powers was very active in sports in the SAGRA League in younger days. She was an accomplished softball and basketball player. She was the first female basketball player to score 1, 000 career points at Bishop Feehan.

After high school, she played basketball and softball for Wheaton College. Mrs. Warren-Powersl was a longtime assistant basketball coach at Foxboro High School, an assistant softball coach at Attleboro High School, King Philip Regional High School, and head coach at Bishop Feehan.

She served as head coach of the girl's basketball team at Seekonk High School for a year, and also served as an assistant softball coach at Wheaton College. She enjoyed supporting her nieces and nephews at their sporting events, and enjoyed time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Shawn, she is survived by her children; Craig and Jordan Powers, two brothers; Manning Warren of Attleboro, Gary Warren and his wife Ellen of North Attleboro, a sister; Ann Marie Warren of Littleton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck Street, Attleboro where the Warren-Powers family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29,  from 1-3 p.m. and 6-9  p.m.. A funeral will be conducted on Wednesday, May 30,  at 10 a.m.from the Duffy- Poule Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church, 133 North Main Street, Attleboro, celebrated by Rev. Richard Roy, Pastor. Mrs. Warren-Powers will be laid to rest in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Attleboro. .

Michael S. J. Melish

Michael S. J. Melish, age 25, died on Monday, May 21, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington after a long illness. He was a lifelong resident of Foxborough.

Mr. Melishl was an active member of the Church of Emmanuel, Christian and Missionary Alliance in Foxborough and a member of the Foxborough Fish and Game Club. He was a wrestling coach for the Foxborough High School Warriors and managed the Church of Emmanuel softball team. He enjoyed boating and fishing and was an avid New England sports fan.

Beloved son of Michael J. and Kathleen M. (Kennedy) Melish. Loving brother of Nicole Melish Nielsen and her husband Thor of Mansfield and Courtney Melish of Foxborough. Devoted grandson of Stephen C. Melish, Jr. of Foxborough and the late Janice (Baker) Melish, James M. and Kathleen (Hannon) Kennedy. Nephew of Steve Melish and his wife Sheila of GA, Paul Melish of Wareham, Jimmy Kennedy of Providence and Peggy Lo Russo and her husband Lou of Walpole. Also survived by several loving cousins. Survived by dear friends Nicole Callahan and Kathy Welburn Melish.

A funeral sernes was held at Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, Friday, May 23 and a funeral service was held Saturday, May 26, at the Church of Emanuel, 106 Central St., Foxborough with interment to at Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxborough. T

Nancy Wilson

 
Nancy Wilson, 58, of Foxboro, formerly of Wrentham, died on Monday. May 21, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.

Born in Arlington on June 18, 1953, she grew up at the Wrentham State School and had made her home in Foxboro for more than 20 years as part of the South Norfolk County ARC/Lifeworks Program.

She enjoyed attending the SNCARC Day Habilitation in Westwood. She loved dining out, attending dances, country music, Concerts on the Common in Foxboro and vacationing with friends.

She is survived by her friend and loving guardian, Norm Finkelstein and his family of Mansfield, as well as her family, and many friends and "family" at Lifeworks and SNCARC.

Funeral services were held May 24 at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield. Burial followed in the Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro.

Helen "Marie" Finnegan

Helen “Marie” Finnegan, age 67, of Bear, DE died peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2012, surrounded by her familMarie was born in Nova Scotia, and then moved and lived in Foxborough, Massachusetts for 20 years, before retiring to Bear, DE. She enjoyed crocheting, reading books, and visiting family in Nova Scotia. Marie had a heart of gold.

Mrs. Finnegan is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Finnegan; son, Scott C. Finnegan and wife Diane; brothers, Jerome and Roddie Grace; sisters: Bertha McCabe, Teresa MacDonald, Margaret MacNeil and Phil Campbell; and one grandchild, Eryn. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Donald, Bernard and John Grace; and her parents, Daniel and Mary Ann Grace.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 5pm-8pm and again on Thursday, May 31st at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701 from 10am-11am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am.
