Manuel P. Freitas

(Foxborough) Manuel P. Freitas, age 87, died on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Norwood Hospital surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the husband of the late Ann E. (Raymond) and the son of the late Augusto and Isabel (Paulo) DeFreitas.

Manuel was born in Easton on Dec. 8, 1924 and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He earned his BSEE at Indiana Technical College in 1949 and his MSEE at Northeastern University in Boston in 1968.

Manuel worked for over 34 years as an electrical engineer at the Foxboro Company and was a registered professional engineer in Massachusetts. While at the Foxboro Company he was responsible for nine patent inventions.
Manuel was a charter member of the Foxboro Country Club and was a member of the Foxboro Toastmasters Club. He has been a Foxborough resident for over 25 years and was a former longtime resident of Easton.

Beloved father of Peter R. Freitas and his wife Ornat of NC, Timothy M. Freitas and his wife Marianne of Foxborough, Patricia A. Finnegan and her husband William of North Attleboro and Paula F. Rogers and her husband Louis of VA. Brother of August Freitas of Easton, Anthony Freitas of Dedham, Celeste Correia of Attleboro and Gloria Mintz of CA. Also survived by ten Grandchildren.

Florence M. Aulis

(Attleboro) Florence M. (Snell) Aulis, age 94, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Life Care Center of Attleboro surrounded by the comfort of her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Ralph and Ruth (Cudworth) Snell.

Florence was born on June 15, 1917 in Plainville. She was educated in the Plainville Public Schools. She was employed by the Doolittle Home in Foxborough for many years.

An arts and crafts enthusiast, Florence enjoyed knitting and crocheting for family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was an avid Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox fan. She was active in the Foxborough Senior Citizen’s Program. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister.

Beloved wife of the late Thomas S. Aulis. Loving mother of Marilyn Aulis of Walpole, NH, Brenda Todd and husband John of Attleboro and Sandra Gould of Foxborough. Sister of Nettie Simpson of Attleboro. Also survived by six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
