Where to Meet Local Moms

Going a little stir crazy this winter inside with the kids? Find out where to go in Foxborough to have fun with your kids and meet new Mom friends.

If you are anything like me, by the end of the day you have adapted a squeaky baby-voice and a child-focused vocabulary. My brain literally feels a little mushy after a long day at home with the kids. As much as I love my children, sometimes I need a friend who understands what it is like to be a full-time mommy. So, I pack-up my kids for a day geared to them- or so they think. My mom friends have become my co-conspirators in this play-dough filled world. Luckily, Foxborough offers a plethora of places for moms to retreat to with their children.

MOMs Club of Foxboro

The MOMs Club is primarily for stay-at-home mothers in Foxborough. However, they also enoucrage mother’s of children who work part-time to join. With a $25.00 annual membership fee, the club consists of weekly playgroups and outings. This is a wonderful option for any mother looking to be part of an organized group.

Boyden Library story-time.

Story-time at the library is provided for children ages infant to 5 years-old. The Tuesday story-time is for ages 3 to 5, while Thursdays are catered for ages 3 and under. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other moms who have children of the same age. In fact, you may want to consider forming your own playgroup with these women and children.

Kidville at Patriot Place

Kidville is an early childhood development center located at Patriot Place that offers weekly classes for newborns to age 6. There are also open playspace hours. Either option is a great way to meet new moms and children. Often times, there are other mothers who are there for the same reason that you are: to escape the monotony of a day full of snack-times, nap-times and play-times. Striking up conversations and being friendly can provide you and your children a chance to make new friends, and maintain sanity.

The Foxborough YMCA

Joining the Y is a great way to get active in the Foxborough community and meet new people. Not only are there fabulous classes for children and adults, but there are many activities to enjoy together; such as, family swim, story times, crafts, and family dinners. The Y also has an indoor and outdoor playground for members to use.

If you too are losing your sanity this winter, locked indoors with your children- get out there, introduce yourself and your children to new friends and steal back some sanity and fun. Maybe I will see you out there!
