(VIDEO) Fireworks Entertain Over Sharon's Lake Massapoag Tuesday night

The rockets ended Sharon's Independence Day celebration on a high note.

Sharon residents packed Veteran's Memorial Park Beach Tuesday night to gaze into the sky above Lake Massapoag.

The colorful fireworks display was the 22 minutes the crowd at Sharon's Independence Day celebration waited for.

The festivities began with a Bicycle and Doll Carriage Parade up Beach Street, from Beech Tree Park to the beach.

Then, several groups offered activities or food at the beach.

The Sunnyrock 4-H Club, for example, held pony rides and a petting zoo. The Back Roads Band performed on the bandstand. And a pie-eating contest was held.

The organized the festivities. The fireworks were entirely funded by donations.
