Applications Available for McGinty Scholarships

April 6 is the deadline to apply for the McGinty Scholarships.

The purpose of the McGinty Scholarship Foundation, named in honor of Mike McGinty who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, is to award two $2,500 scholarships to college-bound high school seniors who are currently residents of Foxboro.

The deadline to apply for the scholarships is April 6 to the McGinty Scholarship Foundation PO Box 626 Foxboro, MA 02035

Applicants should share the same sense of community service and values as Mike demonstrated.

Mike, an active father to Daniel and David and a devoted and loving husband to Cindy, took the time from his busy schedule to give back to our local community in many ways, including his active involvement with Bethany Congregational Church in Foxboro.

Gardening, reading, helping others, and most importantly, spending time with his family were the activities and values Mike most treasured.This scholarship in his memory will provide a lasting tribute to the generous spirit of the community that meant so much to Mike, and that has been so helpful to his family after his tragic death.
