Once Again, Hazeldines Own Their Home

It's finally over for the Hazeldines. After spending the better part of the year fighting to keep their home, the Foxboro couple can now say they own their house again.

On Oct. 11, Julie and John Hazeldine closed on their homes after Direct Federal Credit Union of Needham foreclosed on the home last year.

As the Save John and Julienne Hazeldine From Home Eviction Facebook group noted, the home was first deeded from DCFU to Boston Community Capital and then deeded back to the Hazeldines.

Last year, the house, which John Hazeldine has lived in for over 60 years, fell into foreclosure. With John out of work due to a limp in his right leg and a paralyzed right arm from two strokes and hip surgery, the couple could not afford house payments on his wife, Julie's salary.

Since efforts started in town to keep the Hazeldines' in their home, over $43,000 has been raised from over 300 donations.
