Foxborough Boy Battling Cancer Receives 8,000 Birthday Cards

Danny Nickerson said all he wanted for his sixth birthday was cards.

A 5-year-old Foxborough boy battling an aggressive form of cancer has one wish: to receive a bunch of birthday cards.

His request blew up online and Foxborough Post Office is now crammed with 8,000 cards and four pallets of toys from well wishers, the Boston Herald reports.

“We are all just totally overwhelmed by the support he’s been getting,” Danny’s aunt Hayley Stewart said. “It’s been really amazing. I just spoke with Danny’s mom and they’re frantically unloading another carload of gifts so they can go back to the post office and pick up some more.”
