Foxborough’s Annual Household Hazardous Waste Day Set for Saturday

The annual event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at the town's Highway Garage.

Foxborough will be holding its annual household hazardous waste collection day on Saturday, May 4th at the Highway Garage from 9 a.m. to noon.

Proof of residency is required to participate in the household hazardous waste day.

The following items will be accepted:

  • Arts & crafts supplies
  • Dry cleaning fluids
  • Furniture cleaning polish
  • Drain cleaners
  • Oven cleaners
  • Floor cleaners
  • Metal polish
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Thermometers
  • Lighter fluids
  • Rechargeable batteries

From the garage:

  • Motor oil
  • Engine degreaser
  • Brake fluid
  • Gasoline
  • Antifreeze
  • Auto batteries
  • Waste fuels (kerosene)
  • Transmission fluid
  • Car wax
  • Driveway sealer

From the yard:

  • Cesspool cleaners
  • Pool chemicals
  • Insecticides
  • Solvents – adhesives

From the workbench:

  • Stains – varnishes – strippers
  • Oil based paints only
  • Wood preservatives
  • Solvents – adhesives

The following items will not be accepted:

  • Latex paint
  • Explosive materials: Ammunition, fireworks and explosives
  • Propane tanks
  • Smoke detectors
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Gas cylinders
  • Prescription medicines and syringes
  • Medical waste
  • Commercial / industrial waste
  • Asbestos and asbestos products

A reminder that motor oils can be brought to the Highway Garage Monday thru Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Oil based paints/thinners/stains can be brought to the Highway Garage on Mondays from 7:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
