  • Learn the facts and prevalence of child abuse reports in the United States
  • Recognize their role as a mandated reporter and the legal requirements to file for suspected child abuse
  • Be able to respond safely and supportively to a child who discloses abuse
  • Understand the role of DCF and their process for responding to reports of child abuse
Amanda has over 5 years of experience working as an advocate for the prevention of teen dating violence.  She is currently the education consultant for Norfolk Advocates for Children on the topics of teen dating violence and the mandated reporting laws of Massachusetts.  She previously worked as an education and outreach specialist at a Boston-based domestic violence agency and provided training workshops to schools, businesses and healthcare organizations. Amanda has spoken at various conferences and panel events in addition to radio and television appearances to raise awareness to end dating violence and domestic violence.  She acted in an advisory capacity to Governor’s Council on Sexual Domestic Violence as a member of the Massachusetts Teen Sexual and Dating Violence Prevention Team.

The Early Childhood Professional Association (TECPA)'s Professional Development Programs are designed specifically to meet the needs of early childhood and elementary educators, afterschool professionals, program administrators, and family childcare providers.

TECPA events include a light dinner at 6:00 pm with program running from 6:30-8:30. Cost per person is $25.00 and participants may register online to attend.
